ACCREDITATION COMMITTEE

The function of this committee is to administer the educational accreditation process of the College and to prepare and revise Accreditation Standards for approval by the Board. The Accreditation Committee inspects and monitors the quality of educational, instructional and facility standards of Accredited Education Programs.

On receiving applications from educational programs seeking accreditation, it undertakes the necessary investigations of such programs.

It also prepares reports, with recommendations of the Board, concening applications for evaluations of existing accreditation of Accredited Educational Programs.  Evaluations are done by applying the CMTBC Accreditation Standards.

It inspects and, if necessary, recommends the probation, suspension or removal of accreditation of an educational program that fails to meet the Accreditation Standards.

This Committee establishes for approval by the Board any fees necessary to cover the costs of:

  1. investigating an application by an educational program that wants to become accredited or 
  2. inspecting a program that has already been accredited.
