COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The function of this committee is to improve communication, both within the profession and with the general public and other health professions.

The Communications Committee is responsible for writing, editing and producing the CMTBC publication Touchstone 3-4 times each year. It also produces the CMTBC Annual Report every year, and has produced revised editions of the Code of Ethical Conduct and Practice Standards booklet. The booklet also includes CMTBC Advisory Statements written by Communications Committee members, and includes a section with answers to the questions most frequently asked of CMTBC office staff.

Over the years the Communications Committee has worked collaboratively with the Federation of Massage Therapy Regulatory Authorities of Canada (FOMTRAC), the Massage Therapists Association of BC (MTABC), Leading Spas of Canada and various CMTBC Committees on the writing, editing and printing of a variety of publications, including Advisory Statements.

Along with the QMC, the Communications Committee arranges the continuing education events sponsored by the CMTBC for the Annual General Meeting each spring.
