QUALITY MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

The function of this committee is to develop and administer a continuing competency program for Active Registrants.

As well it develops, reviews, and establishes for approval by the Board standards of professional practice, clinical practice guidelines and advisory statements.

Low Level Laser Therapy Position Paper - December 2009 
Note from the Quality Management Committee:
Currently the provincial government does not recognize this modality as being within the scope of practice for RMTs in BC.
We would like to inform our registrants that the following paper is for informational purposes only. It is not meant to imply that any credits will be granted for attending a Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) course, or to imply that LLLT is an accepted treatment modality for RMTs to utilize.

It is due to the increased interest in this modality by our registrants that the CMTBC is sharing the information contained in this paper.

As well, this paper will be part of the presentation that will be made by the CMTBC Scope of Practice Committee on behalf of our registrants, asking that this modality be included in the scope of practice for RMTs in British Columbia.
