FAQ - Inactive Status

If I am an inactive member, as long as I do not bill the medical plan, am I able to still practice?

A. According to the CMTBC Bylaws, if you are on the inactive roster you are not able to practice massage therapy, whether or not you are billing MSP.

How long can I be inactive before I have to rewrite the board examinations?

A. You can stop practising for three years, and as long as you have paid the inactive fee of $75 each year you can simply notify the CMT office of your return to active status. If you are inactive for more than three years, you must provide evidence of having practised 500 clinical hours per year outside the province in order to keep your skills current.
