LABOUR MOBILITY

As of April 1, 2009, the CMTBC is required to grant full registration to active registrants from other regulated jurisdictions without additional assessment, testing or educational upgrading.  Testing for knowledge of local jurisprudence is permitted. An Entry-to-Practice Competency Profile for Massage Therapists has been approved by the Colleges of Ontario, British Columbia and Newfoundland/Labrador. This approval has moved the profession of massage therapy from three jurisdictions with different but duplicate processes describing entry-to-practice competency standards to a national standard unifying the profession in its expectations of the individual entering the profession.
